The Holy Grail for Car Nuts

Heading out of Canton, many participants toured the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Not having much interest in the subject, I instead performed another field repair on the 1932 Cadillac… One of the valves was out of adjustment and noisy, so I called up Pete the mechanic and he gave me clear instructions on how to identify the offending valve and adjust it properly. I managed to take off the valve cover, preserve the gasket, adjust what I thought was the correct valve and get it all back together! The noise was gone and I felt quite proud of myself. I realized the next day that the noise was gone only because the engine had cooled down, and it returned after a half hour on the road again. Later, I performed the same procedure with the engine HOT, and the real culprit was easily identified and tightened down.
