As we wound down our amazing 21-day adventure across the country, it was clear to everyone that a CCCA tour is not about the cars, it’s not about the meals, it’s not about the sights… it’s all about the people.  Making new friends and revisiting with old friends is what car people are all about; driving around, seeing stuff and having great meals is just the excuse we need to be together.

I am particularly grateful to Ray and Barbara Giudice and their team for putting the whole thing together.  Also to Dave Johnson and Denny & Dick Dochnahl for having me ride along after my car was sidelined.  You can make some good friends when driving together across country!

Our final banquet was at the Academy of Art University, which is comprised of 40 buildings in San Francisco, one of which houses their industrial design school and a fantastic collection of classic cars, each of which is intended as an example for today’s student of fine industrial design from years past.
