Long Day’s Journey

Another really long day of driving (304 miles) took us from Sioux City, Iowa, to Pierre, South Dakota. I had fellow tour participants Bill and Chris Snyder riding along with me.
Flatlands
Once in Pierre, we settled into our hotel. I looked out my window, and saw the Cadillac had a FLAT TIRE. Fixing a flat is not usually a noteworthy experience, but Pierre was different. I put on my gloves and swapped out the spare, but I had to get my flat fixed using the new inner tube I had in my trunk. I called the nearest tire store, Graham Tire, a couple blocks away. They were about to close, but they said come on in. Even at that late hour, they installed my new inner tube on my tire, balanced the tire, and swapped it back out with the spare.
The charge was $0 — they said they were thrilled to have the 1932 Cadillac in the shop. I think they even called in their buddies to have a look!
