Geysers and Holes

Today’s 232-mile drive took us from Cody to Jackson, Wyoming through Yellowstone Park. Interestingly, we didn’t see any bears in the park, not even Yogi or Boo-Boo! Just a chipmunk!
Old Faithful
Old Faithful is a cone geyser known as the most predictable geographical feature on earth, erupting every 91 minutes, more or less! Of course, everyone has seen pictures of the geyser (see video below) but it is fun to see it in person. Even though we are still in the “off season” people from all over the world filled the benches surrounding the geyser. Kids squealed in anticipation every time the geyser burped!
Jackson Hole
At the South entrance to Yellowstone sits Jackson Hole, probably one of the highest income communities in the nation. Lots of wealthy residents go out of their way to maintain residency in Wyoming to take advantage of favorable income taxes there.
We had dinner at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, where I had the chance to catch up with my brother Bill who lives in Jackson, works for the airlines, and has been trying to develop an IMAX theater there.
