In 1986, Life Magazine gave US 50 in Nevada the name, “The Loneliest Road in America”.  A Triple-A article notes, “There are no points of interest.  We don’t recommend it. National Auto Museum

Once settled into the Siena Hotel in Reno, we wandered across the street for dinner and tours of the National Automobile Museum, home of the Harrah Collection.  The collection included Bucky Fuller’s Dymaxion “aerodynamic” car, a Jeep with a Ferrari engine squeezed in, a Tucker, Jack Benny’s Maxwell, and several stunning Rolls-Royces.
